Choose your favourite band
We're not one of those agencies with hundreds of bands. We keep the quality high with three tight-knit units of excellent musicians. And whichever one you choose, you'll get:
- The songs you want to hear. Use our song chooser to pick your favourites, from the 738 songs in our repertoire
- If you can't find your favourite song, we'll be happy to learn it
- Up to three hours of live music, plus a pre-mixed disco in the breaks
- Professional grade sound and lighting equipment
- You can expand-the-band up to a 12 piece with a backing singers and full horn section – for a surprisingly reasonable price
- A blend of talent and experience in every band, to make sure the dance floor is full all night long
This is where it all began. Ed Dewson started The SERIOUS Hat Band when he was a music student at Keele University. They travelled the country in a beaten up old Transit van, looking for fame and fortune. Now they travel the country entertaining crowds at parties, weddings and corporate functions – and always arrive in a shiny new vehicle.
Amazing clients
The SERIOUS Hat Band has performed over 3000 gigs, from intimate weddings to large charity gala events. They've played to over 6000 sailors at Cowes Week, and entertained charity and corporate clients including the BBC, Tesco and MacMillan Cancer Support. They’ve performed for Princess Anne at the BUNAC Anniversary Event, and played with some very special “guest vocalists” including Robbie Williams, Rob Brydon, Westlife and Michael Ball.
The Boss
As well as being the founder of Dewson Entertainments, Ed is also lead singer with The SERIOUS Hat Band. With "the boss" at your event, you know it's in safe hands
[the top hat band] got together in 1998, and quickly began to build a list of very happy clients including Virgin Atlantic, Price Waterhouse and Red Bull. They performed for the Queen at the Y2K Celebrations. But perhaps their proudest achievement was playing three fabulous weddings for three lovely sisters, Jenna in July 2008, Charlotte in June 2010, and Lucy at the Chateau de Clerbise in Bordeaux in August 2014.
Loads of experience
[the top hat band] have played over 2000 weddings, functions and parties, right across the UK. They’ve performed at Knebworth House, Alexandra Palace and the Natural History Museum in London... but they're just as happy playing a wedding or birthday party as they are at a big corporate event.

Sykes is a bit different from the other Dewson Entertainment bands. They're just as talented and professional, and they always put on a brilliant show. But Sykes is fronted by a female lead singer, and backed by some of our best musicians. So if your favourite songs are by Kylie, Ellie Goulding and Adele, perhaps you should consider booking them for you event.
Best of both worlds
Of course, if you want both male and female singers, you can do that simply by adding a male singer to Sykes, or a female singer to The SERIOUS Hat Band or [the top hat band].
